MBSR for Adolescents - Group
Mindfulness-based stress reduction sessions for groups, ages 12 to 19.
Service Description
The 10-week MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) program for adolescents is thoughtfully designed to promote mindfulness, emotional awareness, and resilience in a supportive group environment. Each session focuses on key themes, including improving focus and concentration, engaging with the senses (taste, smell, sound, sight, and touch), building patience and self-confidence, managing emotions effectively, and nurturing kindness, empathy, and positivity. Additionally, the program addresses exam stress and teaches the art of active listening, equipping participants with essential skills to navigate academic and social challenges. Through interactive discussions and activities, participants share insights and develop practical mindfulness skills to apply in everyday life. This program provides numerous benefits, such as enhanced concentration, reduced overthinking and negative thoughts, improved relaxation, better sleep, and decreased anxiety and depression. Participants also gain greater self-confidence, foster respect for themselves and others, and develop the ability to respond calmly to stress and challenging social situations. The group setting creates a sense of community and connection, further enriching the mindfulness experience. Each session lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 minutes.
